Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following manufacturers <br /> comparable to the basis of design product listed: <br /> 1. EFCO,403 (X), screw spline(Basis of Design). Contact Randall Stephens at 540-649-2545. <br /> 2. Wausau. <br /> 3. US Aluminum. <br /> 2.2 MATERIALS <br /> A. Aluminum: Alloy and temper recommended by manufacturer for type of use and finish indicated, complying with <br /> the requirements of standards indicated below. <br /> 1. Sheet and Plate:ASTM B 209. <br /> 2. Extruded Bars, Rods, Shapes, and Tubes:ASTM B 221. <br /> 3. Extruded Structural Pipe and Tubes:ASTM B 429. <br /> 4. Bars, Rods, and Wire:ASTM B 211. <br /> 5. Welding Rods and Bare Electrodes:AWS A5.10. <br /> B. Steel Reinforcement: Complying with ASTM A 36 for structural shapes, plates, and bars; ASTM A 611 for cold- <br /> rolled sheet and strip; or ASTM A 570 for hot-rolled sheet and strip. <br /> C. Glazing as specified in Division 08, Section "Glazing." <br /> D. Glazing Gaskets: Manufacturer's standard pressure-glazing system of black, resilient glazing gaskets, setting <br /> blocks, and shims or spacers, fabricated from an elastomer of type and in hardness recommended by system and <br /> gasket manufacturer to comply with system performance requirements. Provide gasket assemblies that have <br /> corners sealed with sealant recommended by gasket manufacturer. <br /> E. Framing system gaskets, sealants, and joint fillers as recommended by manufacturer for joint type. <br /> F. Sealants and joint fillers for joints at perimeter of storefront systems as specified in Division 07, Section "Joint <br /> Protection". <br /> G. Bituminous Paint: Cold-applied asphalt-mastic paint complying with SSPC-Paint 12 requirements, except <br /> containing no asbestos,formulated for 30-mil thickness per coat. <br /> 2.3 COMPONENTS <br /> A. Storefront Framing System: Provide inside-outside matched resilient flush-glazed storefront framing system with <br /> provisions for glass replacement. Shop-fabricate and preassemble frame components in all locations possible. <br /> Note to general contractor all masonry openings where dimensional tolerance must be maintained and the <br /> required tolerances, the frame depth as outlined below, face dimension of not less than 2" and nominal material <br /> wall thickness to be .080"min. <br /> 1. Thermal-Break Construction: Fabricate storefront framing system with integrally concealed, low conductance <br /> thermal barrier, located between exterior materials and exposed interior members to eliminate direct <br /> metal-to-metal contact. Use manufacturer's standard construction that has been in use for similar projects for <br /> period of not less than 3 years. <br /> 2. Aluminum storefront frames to have extruded aluminum sub-sills. <br /> 3. Provide extruded aluminum high performance thermal flashing (storefront pan sill) as indicated on drawing or <br /> where sill condition does not allow water drain of storefront system to exit the exterior of building. Sill pan <br /> should have mechanically fastened end dam. <br /> 4. Provide extruded aluminum head and jamb receptors. <br /> B. Brackets and Reinforcements: Provide manufacturer's standard brackets and reinforcements that are compatible <br /> with adjacent materials.
