The Contractor shall prepare and seal all exterior CMU masonry wall control and expansion joints. <br /> B. The Contractor shall prepare and seal all routed cracks in the exterior CMU blocks. <br /> C. The Contractor shall properly prepare and clean all joints, remove old materials, install backer-rod or strip/tape where <br /> required to prevent 3-sided adhesion. <br /> D. The Contractor shall properly prepare and apply preformed silicone seal to sheet metal coping joints. <br /> E. At the gutter ends adjacent to the CMU walls, the Contractor shall apply backing material and sealant between the <br /> metal fascia and the CMU walls. <br /> F. Contractor shall prime substrate where required for proper sealant adhesion. <br /> 1.2 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br /> A. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.-UL <br /> 1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Refer to Section 01 33 00 for Submittals. <br /> 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Sealant manufacturing qualifications:The Manufacturer of the specified product shall be ISO 9001/9002 certified and <br /> have in existence a recognized ongoing quality assurance program independently audited on a regular basis. <br /> B. Contractor qualifications: Contractor shall be qualified in the field of building waterproofing and building envelope <br /> restoration with a successful performance record of 5 years or more. Contractor shall maintain qualified personnel <br /> who have received product training by Manufacturer's representative. <br /> C. Contractor shall install materials in accordance with all requirements of Manufacturer, and as modified by applicable <br /> rules and regulations of local, state and federal authorities having jurisdiction. Contractor shall be responsible for <br /> safety and handling. <br /> D. During the progress of the work, after material has received final cure, hand pull test in accordance with procedures <br /> as published by SWRI, shall be performed by the Contractor in the presence of the Engineer. Tests shall be <br /> performed at random times in random areas selected by the Engineer. Contractor shall repair all test areas at no <br /> additional charge to the owner. <br /> 1.6 DELIVERY, STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br /> A. Delivery. Material shall be delivered in the manufacturer's original sealed and labeled containers and cartons. <br /> B. Storage. Materials shall be stored out of direct exposure to the elements, located above standing water at least 4 <br /> inches above ground level. Non-sweating tarpaulins will be placed to prevent moisture contamination. <br /> C. Sealants are heat and moisture sensitive and shall be protected from excessive heat exposure and moisture <br /> exposure. <br /> D.
