Screws: On size larger than the existing, stainless steel hex head screws with length to penetrate substrate a <br /> minimum of 1-1/2 inches. <br /> 2. Washers:Shall be stainless steel with neoprene gasket backing. Shall be 9/16-inch diameter for use with screws. <br /> 3. <br /> D. Replacement of sealant at gutter joints and seal hole in roof panel. <br /> 1. High-performance high-build fluid-applied flashing membrane: <br /> a. GreatSeal LF-500 Liquid Flashing manufactured by Kemper System America, Inc. <br /> b. ALDOSEAL 399 Flashing Grade manufactured by ALDO Products Company. <br /> 2. Bond Breaker Tape: Pressure-sensitive, 1 inch wide Aluminum Tape. <br /> E. Replacement of metal flashing and sealant at gutter ends: <br /> 1. Sheet Metal: 24 gauge, Galvalume coated steel meeting or exceeding AZ55 per ASTM A792. Manufacturer's <br /> smooth finish, pre-finished color coatings consisting of full strength 70% Kynar 500 fluorocarbon(Polyvinylidene <br /> Fluoride PVF2) coating over a urethane primer on the finish side, with primer and a wash coat on the reverse. <br /> All measurements per NCCA Technical Bulletin II-4 or ASTM D1005. Manufacturer's standard color to be <br /> selected by Owner. <br /> 2. Screws: #12 stainless steel pan head screws with length to penetrate substrate a minimum of 1 inch. <br /> 3. Backing Material and Silicone Sealant: See Division 7, Section "Elastomeric Joint Sealants". <br /> PART 3 -EXECUTION <br /> 3.1 Removals <br /> A. Remove exposed sealant at the end joints between the ridge cover sections, at gable end flashing joints and at joints <br /> between sections of counterflashing at masonry wall. <br /> B. Remove all fasteners that are backing out or loose. <br /> C. Remove exposed sealant at laps in wall counterflashing. <br /> D. Remove surface rust where the Galvalume finish has deteriorated. <br /> E. From inside,find and remove the screw that is penetrating the roof panel. <br /> F. Removed the abandoned communication dish support. <br /> G. Remove debris from the gutters. Remove the existing interior gutter joint sealant at all gutter joints. <br /> H. At the gutter ends adjacent to the CMU walls, remove the sheet metal flashings and sealant applied between the <br /> metal fascia and the CMU walls. <br /> 3.2 Installation <br /> A. At the end joints between the ridge cover sections and at gable end flashing joints, clean/prime the metal surface and <br /> install preformed silicone strip over the metal joints according to Division 7, Section"Elastomeric Joint Sealants". <br /> B. Where fasteners are removed, replace with screws one size larger with integral metal washer and rubber gasket. <br /> C. At laps in wall counterflashing,clean/prime the metal surface and install preformed silicone seal over the metal joints <br /> according to Division 7, Section "Elastomeric Joint Sealants". <br /> D. Where the Galvalume finish has deteriorated, prepare areas and apply rust inhibitor coating per manufacturer's <br /> recommendations. <br /> E. Where the screw penetrating the roof panel was removed, replace with a shorter screw. Seal the hole in the panel <br /> with application of high-performance high-build fluid-applied flashing membrane. <br /> F. Where the abandoned communication dish support was removed,fill the screw holes with screws one size larger with <br /> integral metal washer and rubber gasket than the ones removed. <br /> G. At gutters where the debris and the existing interior gutter joint sealant at gutter joints was removed: <br /> 1. Apply 1"wide bond breaker tape centered over joints. <br /> 2. Apply high-performance high-build fluid-applied flashing membrane 3" wide centered over the tape and gutter <br /> joints. <br /> H. At the gutter ends adjacent to the CMU walls: <br /> 1. Fabricate new sheet metal flashing with dimensions to match the sheet metal (lashings removed and color to <br /> match gutter. Exposed edges of new sheet metal shall be returned (hemmed). <br /> 2. Attach new sheet metal flashings to the gutter end caps and seal all fasteners. All joints between gutter end <br /> caps and new metal flashing to be sealed <br /> 3.
