Description of Work: <br /> 1. Remove sealant at the end joints between the ridge cover sections and at gable end flashing joint, clean/prime <br /> the metal surface and install preformed silicone seal over the metal joints. <br /> 2. Remove all fasteners that are backing out and replace with screws one size larger with integral metal washer <br /> and rubber gasket. <br /> 3. Remove sealant at laps in wall counterflashing,clean/prime the metal surface and install preformed silicone seal <br /> over the metal joints. <br /> 4. Remove surface rust where the Galvalume finish has deteriorated and apply rust inhibitor coating. <br /> 5. Remove and replace the screw that is penetrating the roof panel. Seal the hole in the panel with application of <br /> high-performance high-build fluid-applied flashing membrane. <br /> 6. Removed the abandoned communication dish support and fill the screw holes with new screws. <br /> 7. Remove and replace sealant at gutter joints. <br /> 8. At the gutter ends adjacent to the CMU walls, replace the sheet metal flashings and sealant applied between the <br /> metal fascia and the CMU walls. <br /> 1.2 Related Documents <br /> A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Specification <br /> Sections, apply to this Section, including but not limited to: <br /> 1. Division 1, Section "Summary of Work". <br /> 2. Division 1, Section "Allowances". <br /> 3. Division 1, Section "Unit Prices". <br /> 4. Division 7, Section "Elastomeric Joint Sealants". <br /> 1.3 Definitions <br /> A. Removal: Remove and legally dispose of items except those indicated to be reinstalled, salvaged, or to remain <br /> property of the Owner. <br /> B. Existing to remain: Protect construction indicated to remain against damage and soiling during selective demolition. <br /> When permitted by Engineer, items may be removed to a suitable, protected storage location during selective <br /> demolition and then cleaned and reinstalled in their original locations. <br /> C. Material ownership: Except for items or materials indicated to be reused,salvaged, reinstalled,or otherwise indicated <br /> to remain the Owner's property, demolished materials shall become the Contractor's property and shall be removed <br /> from the site. <br /> 1.4 Metal Roof Assembly* <br /> A. A&S Systems' Ultra-Dek standing seam metal panel roof system: <br /> 1. Metal roof standing seam with 90 degree profile with fasteners only at ridge cover, end laps and eaves. <br /> 2. The system provides a 1"thermal space at the purlins. <br /> 3. Panels appear to have Galvalume®finish. <br /> 4. Roof is structurally sloped from ridge to eaves at 1.5" per foot. <br /> 5. Roof drains to gutters at two eaves and fourteen (14)downspouts. <br /> *Roof system composition is based on record drawings and visual observations, composition is confirmed. However, <br /> recommend verifying existing roof system components prior to submitting a bid proposal. <br /> PART 2-PRODUCTS <br /> A. Replacement of sealant at the end joints between the ridge cover sections, at gable end flashing joints and at joints <br /> between sections of counterflashing at masonry wall. <br /> 1. Preformed silicone seal: See Division 7, Section"Elastomeric Joint Sealants". <br /> B. Rust inhibitor paint for metal roof panels. <br /> 1. Paint: Shall be acrylic epoxy coating such as Devran 229H Acrylic Epoxy Gloss Coating as manufactured by <br /> Devoe, Acrylic Epoxy as manufactured by Duron, or M43 Acrylic Epoxy Coating as manufactured by Benjamin <br /> Moore&Co. Color shall be tinted to match the adjacent sheet metal. <br /> C.
