Type S job-mixed or bag-mixed mortar for pre-mixed, colored masonry cement: Proportion materials by volume in <br /> accord with ASTM C270-89, as follows: One part pre-mixed Type S masonry cement to aggregate proportioned not <br /> less than 2-1/4 nor more than three times the volume of masonry cement used, and as directed by masonry cement <br /> manufacturer's product data to produce Type S mortar. <br /> B. Type S job-mixed or bag-mixed mortar for concealed work: Proportion materials by volume in accord with ASTM <br /> C270-91 a, as follows: <br /> 1. One part masonry cement to 1/2 part Portland cement to aggregate proportioned at not less than 2-1/4 nor more <br /> than three times the volumes of cements used, or; <br /> 2. One part Portland cement and 1/4 to 1/2 parts hydrated lime to aggregate proportioned at not less than 2-1/4 nor <br /> more than three times the combined volume of cement and lime used. <br /> 2.5 JOB MIXING <br /> A. Mix mortar in power-driven drum type mixers. Operate mixer minimum of five minutes after addition of all materials. <br /> Do not retemper mortar. Discard partially set material. <br /> B. Mortar: Small quantities of mortar may be mixed with a drill and filly mixer. Operate mixer minimum of five minutes <br /> after addition of all materials.Do not retemper mortar.Discard partially set material.The working time is approximately <br /> 20-30 minutes. <br /> 1. Carefully follow the manufacturer's mixing instructions.Add water at the rate of 2.5 to 3 quarts per 50 pound bag <br /> of mortar.Then add the dry product and mix for 3-5 minutes.The mixed material should be used immediately. <br /> 2. For job-mixed mortars, add water-reducing and plasticizing admixture in accord with admixture manufacturer's <br /> product data. <br /> 3. Addition of other admixtures, including antifreeze ingredients, will not be permitted. <br /> 4. Measure materials for job-mixed mortars in a one cubic foot container. Do not measure by shovels. <br /> C. Proprietary Cleaners: Carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions, including product data and product technical <br /> bulletins. <br /> 2.6 CMU CRACK SEALANT <br /> A. For prepared cracks in CMU block. <br /> B. Use sealant specified in Section 07 92 00, Elastomeric Joint Sealants. <br /> 2.7 CMU COLORED BAND PAINT <br /> A. High-Build Latex System: Dry film thickness of not less than 10 mils. <br /> 1. Prime Coat:As recommended in writing by topcoat manufacturer. <br /> 2. Intermediate Coat:As recommended in writing by topcoat manufacturer. <br /> 3. Topcoat: Latex, exterior, high build-ConFlex XL by Sherwin Williams. <br /> 4. Topcoat Color:As selected by Owner and Architect from manufacturer's full range. <br /> 2.8 METAL LOUVER PAINT <br /> A. Paint: Shall be acrylic epoxy coating such as Devran 229H Acrylic Epoxy Gloss Coating as manufactured by Devoe, <br /> Acrylic Epoxy as manufactured by Duron, or M43 Acrylic Epoxy Coating as manufactured by Benjamin Moore&Co. <br /> Color as selected by Owner and Architect. <br /> 2.9 WATER REPELLANT <br /> A.
