This Section includes the following: <br /> 1. Demolition and removal of selected portions of a building. <br /> 2. Patching and repairs. <br /> B. Related Sections: The following Sections contain requirements that relate to this Section: <br /> 1. Division 01, Section "Summary"for use of the building and phasing requirements. <br /> 2. Division 01, Section "Information Available to Bidders"for remediation protocols related to the Work. <br /> 3. Division 01, Section "Cutting and Patching" for cutting and patching procedures for selective demolition <br /> operations. <br /> 4. Division 01, Section "Construction Progress Documentation"for selective demolition schedule requirements. <br /> 5. Division 01, Section "Closeout Procedures"for record document requirements. <br /> 1.2 DEFINITIONS <br /> A. Remove: Remove and legally dispose of items except those indicated to be reinstalled, salvaged, or to remain the <br /> Owner's property. Refer to the Remediation Protocols provided in the Information Available to Bidders. <br /> B. Remove and Salvage: Items indicated to be removed and salvaged remain the Owner's property. Remove, clean, <br /> and pack or crate items to protect against damage. Identify contents of containers and deliver to Owner's designated <br /> storage area. Refer to the Remediation Protocols provided in the Information Available to Bidders. <br /> C. Remove and Reinstall: Remove items indicated; clean, service, and otherwise prepare them for reuse; store and <br /> protect against damage. Reinstall items in the same locations or in locations indicated. Refer to the Remediation <br /> Protocols provided in the Information Available to Bidders. <br /> D. Existing to Remain: Protect construction indicated to remain against damage and soiling during selective demolition. <br /> When permitted by the Architect, items may be removed to a suitable, protected storage location during selective <br /> demolition and then cleaned and reinstalled in their original locations. Refer to the Remediation Protocols provided <br /> in the Information Available to Bidders. <br /> 1.3 MATERIALS OWNERSHIP <br /> A. Except for items or materials indicated to be reused, salvaged, reinstalled, or otherwise indicated to remain the <br /> Owner's property, demolished materials shall become the Contractor's property and shall be removed from the site <br /> with further disposition at the Contractor's option. <br /> 1. Verify with Owner whether Owner wishes to retain any materials indicated to be removed. Turn over requested <br /> items to Owner. <br /> 1.4 SUBMITTALS <br /> A. Proposed remediation procedures and schedule. <br /> B. Proposed dust-control measures. <br /> C. Inventory of items to be removed and salvaged. <br /> D. Photographs, sufficiently detailed, of existing conditions of adjoining construction and site improvements that might <br /> be misconstrued as damage caused by selective demolition operations. <br /> E. Record drawings at Project closeout according to Division 01, Section"Closeout Procedures." <br /> 1. Identify and accurately locate capped utilities and other subsurface structural, electrical, or mechanical <br /> conditions. <br /> F. Landfill records indicating receipt and acceptance of hazardous wastes by a landfill facility licensed to accept <br /> hazardous wastes. <br /> 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Demolition Firm Qualifications: Engage an experienced firm that has successfully completed selective demolition <br /> Work similar to that indicated for this Project. <br /> B.
