3 <br /> 4. The Arts Commission received donations totaling $1,952 at the LocalFest and the Paint <br /> it Orange events this fiscal year. These donations will be used for professional <br /> development workshops in Spring 2019. The Arts Commission has also received <br /> donations of $308 through the United Way Giving campaign to be used for program <br /> expenses. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these donations for the <br /> above mentioned purpose. (See Attachment 1, column 4) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There are no Orange County Social Justice Goals <br /> applicable to this item. <br /> Orange Rural Fire Department <br /> 5. The Orange Rural Fire Department has requested a portion ($80,000) of their district's <br /> available unassigned fund balance to purchase essential protective clothing for their <br /> personnel, as well as the replacement of a 2007 truck. With this appropriation, <br /> approximately $97,254 remains in the district's unassigned fund balance. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the appropriation of $80,000 from the district's fund balance <br /> for the above stated purposes. (See Attachment 1, column 5 and Attachment 3) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior <br /> injuries, gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 6. Orange County Department of Social Services has received the following revenues as <br /> outlined below: <br /> • Foster Care Funding: Due to an increase in the number of children in Social <br /> Services and number of children achieving permanency, both revenues and <br /> expenditures related to foster care and adoption will increase by an anticipated <br /> $200,000. <br /> • Energy Program Funding: State allocation for both Crisis Intervention Program <br /> and LIEAP were $155,998 higher than originally budged. Amendment allows use <br /> of funds for energy program purposes. <br /> • Energy Program Admin Funding: State allocation for LIEAP admin was <br /> $12,810 higher than originally budgeted. Amendment allows for use of funds for <br /> administrative purposes; personal mileage, printing and electricity. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds (See <br /> Attachment 1, column 6) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior <br /> injuries, gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br />
