DocuSign Envelope ID: B01E86EC-6FC1-43CE-8E90-79CF68C52249
ECS Southeast, LLP
within approximately 2 weeks after authorization to proceed and notification that the appropriate on-
site personnel have been informed.
We anticipate that the drilling operations will require about 1 week, and that the laboratory testing,
after drilling is completed, will require about 2 weeks. Therefore, for time budget purposes, the entire
scope should take about 6 weeks from initial authorization through final report submission. Verbal
comments on findings can be provided within 3 days of completion of the borings, if requested.
EXCLUDED GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES
Without attempting to provide a complete list of all or potential geotechnical services performed by ECS
that will be excluded from this proposal, the following are specifically excluded. ECS can perform these
services; however, the proposed fees do not cover any of these services. We would be pleased to
provide you with a separate proposal for additional geotechnical services if these services are
determined to be beneficial to the project.
• Private utility locator.
• Measurement of the ground surface elevation at the boring locations using an
instrument(e.g., automatic level or survey grade GPS unit) accurate to the nearest tenth
of a foot.
• Infiltration rate testing.
• Pressuremeter testing.
• Shear wave velocity measurements for seismic site class determination (ReMi).
• Seismic refraction testing
• Geotechnical exploration and recommendations for deep foundations, such as piles or
drilled shafts.
• Geotechnical exploration and recommendations for site retaining walls.
• Global stability analysis of site retaining walls.
• Design of site retaining walls.
• Geotechnical exploration and recommendations for off-site and/or public (NCDOT)
roads or roadway improvements.
• Development of allowances, including quantity estimates, such as those used for
unsuitable soils and rock excavation for classified excavation construction contracts.
• Review of project drawings and specifications for adherence to and implementation of
geotechnical recommendations.
CLOSING
If other items are required because of unexpected field conditions or because of a request for additional
services, they would be invoiced in accordance with our current Fee Schedule. Before modifying or
expanding the extent of our exploration program, you would be informed of our intentions for both
your review and authorization.
Our "Terms and Conditions of Service," which are included as an attachment to this letter, is an integral
part of our proposal. These conditions represent the current recommendations of the Geoprofessional
Business Association, the Consulting Engineers' Council, and the Geo-Institute of the American Society of
Civil Engineers.
ECS Proposal No:06:21174
Page 16
