J, M. Hobbsr Commissioners Donald McDade, Donald Btanfordr <br /> Dwight Ray and Henry Malker. <br /> lire minutes for meetings held an November 3rd and Nwembor 17thr 1958r xere read by the <br />~, Clerk and approved by the Hoard. <br /> Chairman Hobbs presented to retiring Commissioner Dwight Aay a plaque which had been signed ' <br /> by the members of the Board and other department Officials. <br /> The oath of office of County Commissioner was administered by E. M, Lynchr Clerk of Courtr <br /> to Clarence Jonesr Donald McDade and Henry Plalker. <br /> U_non motion of Co®isst oner 1'falkerr seconded by Commissionu Stanfordr and unanimously <br /> adoptedr Dr, Hobbs was elected to serve an Chairman oL the Board. <br /> Uoon motion of Commissioner McDader seconded by Commissioner i'lalkerr and unanimously <br /> adoptedr L, J, Phipps was reappointed as Judge oL Orange County's Recorders Court for a tenure <br /> of two (2) years, <br /> Upon motion of Co~mnissioner Jonesr seconded by Commissioner 7ialkerr and unanimously <br /> adoptedr F. Lloyd Noell was appointed Prosecutor oL Orange County's Recorders Court for a <br /> tenure of txo (2) years. <br /> The following road petitions were presented to the Board and tho Clerk was requested to <br /> mail them to tho State Highway Commission, <br /> 1. Road located in Little River Tmmshtp and is a connecting link betrrecn Highway 40, B6 <br /> and Highway 57. <br /> 2. Road located in Chaoel Hill Tormship in the subdivision known as Dogwood Acres runs <br /> fraa Smith Level road to Dogwood Drive and is locally known as North Street. <br /> 7. Road located in Eno Tmvnship runs from Nevr Sharon Methodist Church to Highway 857 <br /> and is knorm as road /(591 on State Highway Systom. <br /> 4. Road located in Hillsboro Township runs Lrom !{ighway 1:70 to Old Faucette Mill road <br /> and is known as part of Old Faucette Hi11 road, <br /> $, Road located in Hillsboro Township tuns from Lake Shore Drive to Flest !?illsboxo <br /> School and is known locally as Lake Shore Drive, Petitions request extension of this road. <br />' She following deoar tments officials presented reoor is for the month of 1Vovemberr 1958: <br /> E. J, Nakao of 13t. Bolusr Chapel iiillr xas apoointed to fill the unexpired term of <br /> Stacey Pieville on the Planning Board for Chaoel Hill and Environs. i{r. Neville had resigned from <br /> the Board because of hill health, Pee Clerk was requested to notify Frank Umsteadr Chairman of <br /> said Board of this appointment. <br /> No acting was taken on the request From the Dueling Chamber' of Commencer lee. to contribute <br /> io the Flagavalina Highway Association of North Cawli.na. <br /> The Board declined to make any reduction on the request of Aubury Harrrard to reduce <br /> hie tax valuation, The Doard considered its previous action in this mutter as final. <br /> Upon motion of Commissioner 'rfalkerr seconded by Commissioner Stanford the following <br /> resolution was unanimously adontied.
