1 <br /> 1 Attachment 4 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 DRAFT MINUTES <br /> 4 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 5 REGULAR MEETING <br /> 6 February 19, 2019 <br /> 7 7:00 p.m. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, February <br /> 10 19, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. <br /> 11 <br /> 12 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Penny Rich and Commissioners <br /> 13 Jamezetta Bedford, Mark Dorosin, Sally Greene, Earl McKee, and Mark Marcoplos <br /> 14 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Price <br /> 15 COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> 16 COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County <br /> 17 Manager Travis Myren, and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will <br /> 18 be identified appropriately below) <br /> 19 <br /> 20 Chair Rich called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> 21 Chair Rich said Commissioner Price is out of town. <br /> 22 <br /> 23 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> 24 Chair Rich noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> 25 <br /> 26 - PowerPoint for item 4-a <br /> 27 - PowerPoint for item 6-b <br /> 28 -Additional information for item 6-c <br /> 29 <br /> 30 *** Arts Commission Appointment (11 b)— Clerk to the Board Donna Baker asked if this item <br /> 31 could be moved up to 4-c, since Katie Murray, Arts Commission Director, is in attendance for <br /> 32 the Arts Moment. <br /> 33 The Board agreed by consensus. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> 36 Chair Rich acknowledged the public charge. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Arts Moment <br /> 39 Katie Murray, Arts Commission Coordinator, introduced the artist: <br /> 40 Agnieszka Stachura is a first generation American Yankee expat living in the South. <br /> 41 If she's not writing, she's most likely baking, knitting, spinning wool, or watching very, very <br /> 42 bad TV. Her work has appeared in Fifth Wednesday Journal, Damselfly Press, The Broken <br /> 43 Plate, Funny Times, and The Sun, among other publications. She read a short piece called <br /> 44 "Heritage," which discussed the effects of a flood on a family's life and home. <br /> 45 <br /> 46 2. Public Comments <br /> 47 <br /> 48 a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> 49 Karen Dunn, Club Nova Executive Director, introduced Rosemary Waldorf, and said <br /> 50 they are here on behalf of Club Nova. <br />
