She said it is time to start thinking about and planning <br /> 2 potential involvement in the project for the county. <br /> 3 Commissioner McKee asked about the type of economic development in this area. <br /> 4 Chair Rich clarified that it will include office, retail, and residential space. She added that <br /> 5 Chapel Hill has an unmet need for office space. <br /> 6 Commissioner McKee asked how residential development qualifies as economic <br /> 7 development. <br /> 8 Chair Rich said the area included no single-family homes. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 3:35 Wrap Up/Evaluation <br /> 11 Commissioner Dorosin said it would be helpful to get feedback from the towns at the <br /> 12 AOG meeting about the collaborative message. <br /> 13 Commissioner Greene said she liked the retreat agenda. <br /> 14 Commissioner Dorosin said the direct interaction was helpful. <br /> 15 Commissioner Marcoplos agreed. <br /> 16 Chair Rich said it was confusing with information in their agenda packet versus what the <br /> 17 Board received today at the meeting, and maybe for future meetings this could be avoided. <br /> 18 Commissioner Marcoplos said he liked hanging out with staff and playing pool. <br /> 19 Commissioner Dorosin said there is not enough interaction between staff and elected <br /> 20 officials at the retreats, and this may not be the right venue for this type of interaction. <br /> 21 Bonnie Hammersley said this is the Board of County Commissioners retreat and staff <br /> 22 understands this. <br /> 23 Commissioner Marcoplos said he would like to see some intergovernmental athletic <br /> 24 events. <br /> 25 Commissioner McKee said zoning and the issue of the Eno EDD are topics that need to <br /> 26 come back to the Board for further discussion, as well as the water and sewer boundary. <br /> 27 Commissioner Price said they did not get a chance to discuss incubators and local <br /> 28 farmers. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 The meeting adjourned at 4:09 p.m. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Penny Rich, Chair <br /> 33 <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Donna Baker, Clerk to the Board <br /> 36 <br /> 37 <br />
