Year-To-Date Budget Summary PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2018-19. BACKGROUND: Health Department 1. The Health Department received funds totaling $127,361 in FY 2017-18 as part of the FY 2017-18 Medicaid Cost Settlement. These funds remained unspent and unencumbered, and these funds rolled into the General Fund's fund balance at year-end. The Health Department will use these funds toward the County's contract with UNC for the Epic Electronic Health Record System, and is within the budget authorization approved in FY 2017-18. This budget amendment provides for a fund balance appropriation of $127,361 from the General Fund in order to re-budget these funds for use in FY 2018-19. (See Attachment 1, column 1) SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is applicable to this item: • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for themselves and their dependents.
