Schools: Elementary, Middle & <br />SecondaryPreparatory28 A A A A A A A A A A * <br /> <br />20AfterconferringwiththeCounty’sAttorneyoffice,staffiseliminatingtheword‘child’toensurethecategoryencompassesboth‘adults’andchildren’.Thisisalsopartofthedirectionstaffhasreceivedtoconsolidatelanduseswherepossibletoavoida <br />complicated,exhaustive,tableofpermitteduses. <br />21Inordertoavoidconfusion,staffisnolongerrecommendingwereͲorganizetheproposedtable,andapplicablelandusedevelopmentstandardsthroughoutArticle5,alphabetically.BothstaffandtheCounty’sAttorneyofficebelievethiswillcreateunnecessary <br />confusionforthosereviewingthedocument.StaffwillbecompletingafuturerevisiontoreͲorganizeusecategoriesandregulationsalphabeticallyafteractiontoadopttherevisedtablehasbeentakenbytheBOCC.Thiswillalsoallowstafftheopportunitytowork <br />withPlanningBoardandBOCCmemberstosimplify/modify/updateexistinglanduseregulations. <br />22Staffisrecommendingeliminatingreferencesto‘childcare’andallowingforcareofchildren,adolescents,andadultsaspartofthisexistinglandusecategory.LanguageisbeingaddedtoArticle5toaddressdistinctions,wherenecessary,andrequiredamenities <br />forthecareofabroadspectrumofclient.ThisisbeingdoneconsistentwithdirectionfromBOCCmemberstoconsolidate,wherepossible,similarusetypestosimplifythetableandeliminateredundancies. <br />23Staffisrecommendingwemodifythetableandallowfor‘CareFacilities’tobepermittedbyrightwithintheEDBͲ1andEDBͲ2zoningdistrictsconsistentwiththeEnoEconomicDevelopmentdistrict. <br />24Thereisnoneedtorefertoausetypeinthe‘plural’sense.Asaresult,staffiseditingexistinglanguage. <br />25Staffisrecommendingthelandusebeeliminated.Toourknowledgewehavenosuchusesinexistenceandareunsurewhattheintentoftheusewaswhencreated. <br />26Staffisproposingnewterminologyanddefinitiontoexpandtheusetypetoincludeadditionalactivitiessuchasart,music,danceschools,karatestudio,etc. <br />27StaffisrecommendingtheusebepermittedbyrightintheEDBͲ2zoningdistrict.ThereisnorationaletoallowtheusewithintheEDBͲ1,EDEͲ1,andEDEͲ2zoningdistrictsasapermitteduseandnotdothesamefortheEDBͲ2district. <br /> 29
