The <br />goal is to provide training for agencies and communities to increase cultural and <br />linguistic competence through adoption of the National Standards for Culturally and <br />Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) in Health and Health Care. NC OMHHD is <br />using the evidence-based CLAS Training Program, which seeks to reduce cultural and <br />linguistic barriers to care by providing local health departments, health care <br />organizations, community-based and faith-based organizations, and policy makers with <br />the training, skills, information and resources needed to address the changing <br />demographics and health care needs of North Carolinians. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Recommended Action: ___Approve <br /> ___Approve & forward to Board of Commissioners for action <br />___Approve & forward to ___________________________ <br /> _X_Accept as information <br /> ___Revise & schedule for future action <br /> ___Other (detail):
