1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> Asset Management Services <br /> Angel Barnes, Capital Projects Manager <br /> Memo to: Orange County, Board of County Commissioners <br /> From: Angel Barnes, Capital Projects Manager <br /> CC: Travis Myren, Deputy County Manager <br /> Date: February 19, 2019 <br /> RE: FY2018-19 Capital Investment Plan Information Updates <br /> The Board of Orange County Commissioners appropriated funding for multiple projects for County owned <br /> facilities as part the FY2018-23 Capital Investment Plan. This memo serves as an update for the projects that <br /> are currently under construction or are anticipated to be under construction very soon. <br /> Sportsplex Field House: (FY2018-23 CIP page 89) This project is complete, with close out process in <br /> progress. Close out scheduled to be 100% complete by April 15, 2019. <br /> Criminal Justice Resource Group: (FY2018-23 CIP page 31) This project is currently complete for the team <br /> members located at the Richard E. Whitted building. The design is anticipated to start for the expanded space <br /> within the Justice Facility by early spring 2019. <br /> Facility Accessibility and Safety Upgrades: (FY2018-23 CIP page 33) In FY2018-19 this project included <br /> installing "No Weapons" signage at multiple facilities across the County. All the signs have been produced and <br /> are planned for installation by spring, 2019. This project includes installing security cameras at multiple <br /> facilities across the County. The facilities that have new cameras include Skills Development Center; the <br /> cameras have been installed and are operational. The design for the wheel chair lift replacement at Central <br /> Recreation building is anticipated to start spring, 2019. <br /> HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Projects: (FY2018-23 CIP page 35) The HVAC projects <br /> programmed in for FY2018-19 include HVAC equipment replacements at multiple facilities. The funding for the <br /> AMS Motor Pool Facility & Storage Facility, Humidity Impact Study, and Emergency Services Sub Station 1 <br /> was repurposed for remediation work, this funding will be requested again in FY2019-20 CIP. The Emergency <br /> Services Communication Tower equipment replacement is currently in progress and anticipates completion by <br /> mid-March, 2019. <br /> Link Center Up-Fit: (FY2018-23 CIP page 36) The Link Center Up-Fit included in the CIP FY2018-19 allows <br /> for renovations to the first floor conference room of the John Link Jr. Government Services Center by <br /> improving the existing meeting spaces with upgraded Audio Visual equipment and furnishings. The request for <br /> qualifications for the design of this project is anticipated to be sent out by early 2019. <br /> P.O.
