3 <br /> Animal Services <br /> 3. The Orange County Animal Services Department has received funds totaling $700 <br /> associated with the department's care, transportation of a stray red angus bull. This <br /> budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds. (See Attachment 1, column 3) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact <br /> associated with this item. <br /> Planning and Inspections <br /> 4. The Orange County Planning and Inspections Department has received $3,030 in <br /> unanticipated application fee revenue collected as part of the Class A subdivision and <br /> Camp Chestnut Ridge application process. These funds will be used to cover required <br /> advertising and postage costs. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these <br /> funds. (See Attachment 1, column 4) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: ESTABLISH SUSTAINABLE AND EQUITABLE LAND-USE AND <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL POLICIES <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of people of all races, cultures, <br /> incomes and educational levels with respect to the development and enforcement <br /> of environmental laws, regulations, policies, and decisions. Fair treatment means <br /> that no group of people should bear a disproportionate share of the negative <br /> environmental consequences resulting from industrial, governmental and <br /> commercial operations or policies. <br /> Emergency Services <br /> 5. Orange County Emergency Services has received notification of the receipt of $1,000 <br /> from the Safe Kids Program of UNC Health Care Injury Prevention division for the <br /> purchase of three (3) Neo-mates devices. These devices will be placed in the EMS <br /> Supervisor's vehicles to assist in the safe transport of newly born infants. This budget <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of these funds. (See Attachment 1, column 5) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Social Services — Technical Amendment <br /> 6. This technical amendment provides for the transfer of budgeted funds related to <br /> Information Technology infrastructure approved projects from the Capital Projects Fund <br /> to the Department of Social Services within the General Fund in order to simplify the cost <br /> allocation process and reimbursement process for the department. This technical <br /> amendment provides for the transfer of these budgeted funds totaling $20,000 from the <br /> Capital Projects Fund to the Department of Social Services and amends the following <br /> Information Technology Capital Project Ordinance: (See Attachment 1, column 6) <br />
