The <br />deadline for CMAQ applications to be submitted to NCDOT is .January 24, 2005, NCDOT has <br />targeted CMAQ Program allocations of $7,503,584 and $481,269, respectively for Durham - Chapel <br />Hill - Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC) and Triangle Area Rural Planning <br />Organization (TARPO). The targeted allocations are for a 7 -year period and funding will be <br />reallocated after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designates particulate matter (PM2 5) <br />non- attainment areas. Allocations are based on population in non - attainment and maintenance <br />areas and severity of the air quality problem. The Triangle Ozone Non- Attainment Area is a basic <br />(sub - marginal) area. <br />A complete list of eligible activities and projects is provided in Attachment 1. The following lists <br />typical projects for consideration: <br />Transportation Control Measures: <br />a) programs for improved public transit; <br />b) restriction of certain roads or lanes to, or construction of such roads or lanes for use by, <br />passenger buses or HOV; <br />c) employer -based transportation management plans, including incentives; <br />d) trip - reduction ordinances; <br />e) traffic flow improvement programs that achieve emission reductions; <br />f) fringe and transportation corridor parking facilities serving multiple - occupancy vehicle <br />programs or transit service; <br />GAComprehensive Planning Div \GENE\2004 Public Hearings \Nov 22 \CMAQ \CMAQReportAbsl 12204 .
