Convey Smart Growth for Schools principles to the Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools <br />(CHCCS) <br />2. Ask CHCCS for a timetable for the construction and opening of the planned Elementary <br />School #10, as well as any infrastructure construction estimates generated to date <br />3. Create an alternative design scenario, with a focus on smart growth for school <br />construction and sharing of facilities <br />4. Hold an open house /public input session on the plans for the site <br />5. Prepare a report evaluating projected water and sewer demand from the site, and <br />develop park construction cost estimates <br />6. Discuss with Chapel Hill Transit potential future service to the site (both park and <br />educational campus), and <br />7. Begin the process of preparing a Conditional Use Permit application for submittal to the <br />Town of Carrboro <br />Since that time, staff has worked to complete these actions, and can report the following <br />progress to date (covered in greater detail in the attached memorandum): <br />The Smart Growth for Schools principles have been conveyed to CHCCS. Based on the <br />Debt Issuance Schedule that the Board reviewed on October 25th, Elementary #10 would <br />open in fall of 2007. There is some evidence that this timetable will be extended in <br />response to projections related to the School Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance. <br />Additional information would be available for Board consideration following the SAPFO- <br />
