An attorney from Tharrington-Smith will review the legislation, including any recent <br /> information about efforts to align class size implementation with the teacher <br /> compensation pilot project deadline as extended by the Legislature during the short <br /> session; and <br /> 2. To provide an update of on-going work by CHCCS to implement the class size <br /> legislation. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Board was last updated on the efforts of the District to implement the <br /> class size legislation on October 18, 2018. Using 2018-19 enrollment numbers, Dr. LoFrese's <br /> report reflected an anticipated need for a net of 31 additional teachers and classrooms. Note the <br /> original estimate was 44 classrooms; however, the legislation exempts dual language classrooms <br /> where at least 50% of the instruction is provided in the target foreign language, thereby reducing <br /> that number by 13. <br />
