2 <br /> and verified to have met or exceeded the minimum criteria for certification into the program. <br /> There are no applications at this time for the Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural District (EVAD) <br /> program. <br /> The Agricultural Preservation Board voted unanimously to recommend approval of the <br /> certification for eight (8) farms, and their inclusion in the Voluntary Agricultural District program. <br /> The certification documentation is on file in the DEAPR/Soil and Water Conservation District <br /> office. The farms are described briefly below: <br /> Brief Farm Descriptions: <br /> 1) Owners Bryant and Nancy Walker have submitted an application to enroll two (2) parcels of <br /> land totaling 72.25 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> program (VAD) in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm operation includes livestock, <br /> pasture, hay crops, and managed woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of <br /> the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures <br /> above. <br /> 2) Owner Charles Blalock has submitted an application to enroll one (1) of parcel of land <br /> totaling 89.81 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) <br /> program in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm operation includes livestock, pasture, <br /> hay crops, and managed woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD <br /> certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 3) Owners Walter and Tammy Havener have submitted an application to enroll one (1) parcel of <br /> land totaling of 30.0 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) <br /> program located in the Caldwell Agricultural District. The farm includes hay crops and <br /> managed woodland. The farm has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification <br /> requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 4) Owners of Latta's Egg Ranch, Paul, Mark, and Frank Latta, have submitted an application to <br /> enroll nine (9) parcels of land totaling 569.53 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary <br /> Agricultural District (VAD) program in the Schley/Eno Agricultural District. The farm operation <br /> includes poultry, beef cattle, pasture, hay crops, and managed woodland. The farm has been <br /> evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or <br /> exceeds all of the measures above. <br /> 5) Owners David and Gaye Walker have submitted an application to enroll one (1) parcel of <br /> land totaling of 126.19 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> (VAD) program located in the Schley/Eno Agricultural District. The farm includes vegetable <br /> crops, livestock, pasture, hay crops and managed woodland. The farm has been evaluated <br /> against each of the VAD certification requirement standards and meets or exceeds all of the <br /> measures above. <br /> 6) Owners Randall Williams and Lisa Joyner have submitted an application to enroll one (1) <br /> parcel of land totaling 8.7 acres as qualifying farmland for the Voluntary Agricultural District <br /> (VAD) program in the Cane Creek/Buckhorn Agricultural District. The farm operation <br /> includes livestock, pasture, vegetable crops, flowers, and agro-forestry/ managed woodland. <br /> The farm property has been evaluated against each of the VAD certification requirement <br /> standards and meets or exceeds all of the measures above. <br />
