Resolution of Recognition for Andrew Sachs <br /> 15 The Board considered voting to approve a resolution recognizing and expressing <br /> 16 gratitude to Andrew (Andy) Sachs for his service to the Orange County Board of <br /> 17 Commissioners and the people of Orange County as a coordinator for the Dispute Settlement <br /> 18 Center. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 RES-2019-001 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Commissioner Dorosin read the resolution: <br /> 23 <br /> 24 ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> 25 RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION <br /> 26 FOR ANDREW SACHS <br /> 27 <br /> 28 WHEREAS, Andrew (Andy) Sachs, Coordinator for the Dispute Settlement Center, retired in <br /> 29 October 2018; and <br /> 30 <br /> 31 WHEREAS, Mr. Sachs served as a mediator, group facilitator, and conflict resolution trainer <br /> 32 since 1980; and <br /> 33 <br /> 34 WHEREAS, Andy has been a member of multiple state and national organizations, including <br /> 35 serving on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Mediation Network for 14 years; and <br /> 36 <br /> 37 WHEREAS, Andy has helped and supported many local agencies and governments through <br /> 38 extremely challenging issues; and <br /> 39 <br /> 40 WHEREAS, Mr. Sachs assisted Orange County Government by mediating multiple projects <br /> 41 over the years, including School Collaboration, the Comprehensive Plan, school merger <br /> 42 discussions, the Firearms Safety Committee and multiple Board of County Commissioners' <br /> 43 retreats; and <br /> 44 <br /> 45 WHEREAS, the Orange County Board of Commissioners will deeply miss Andy's skills and <br /> 46 expertise in bringing potentially volatile issues to a productive conclusion; <br /> 47 <br /> 48 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 49 expresses its deep appreciation, gratitude and respect for the mediation services throughout <br />
