2 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PROCLAMATION OF RECOGNITION <br /> ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA SENIOR <br /> LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM WINNING 2018 STATE COMPETITION <br /> WHEREAS, on November 27, 2018, Orange High School entered a Senior <br /> Livestock Judging Team in the 2018 N.C. Future Farmers of <br /> America (FFA) Association's annual Livestock Evaluation Career <br /> Development Event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the competitive event is for agricultural education students, <br /> emphasizing skills in livestock evaluation, selection and <br /> management as taught through the agricultural education <br /> curriculum; and <br /> WHEREAS, under the leadership of Cole Watkins, an instructor in the Career and <br /> Technical Education Department at Orange High School, the team <br /> placed 1 st in the state out of 89 high school teams; and <br /> WHEREAS, through hard work, dedication and commitment, the team brought <br /> honor upon themselves, Orange High School, the Orange County <br /> Schools District and Orange County; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it proclaimed that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners expresses its sincere appreciation and respect for the <br /> Orange High School Senior Livestock Judging Team and Cole <br /> Watkins for this outstanding achievement, and wishes them great <br /> success when they represent the school and county at the national <br /> event in October 2019. <br /> This the 5th day of February 2019. <br /> Penny Rich, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
