Draft Plan and Timeline for Establishing the Animal Services Department and Completing <br />Transition to the New Organization <br />Attachment 5 is an updated Transition Timeline, <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The FY04-05 Approved Budget provided appropriations for both Animal <br />Control and the Animal Shelter, including the Animal Services Director position. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board: <br />1. Approve establishing a new Animal Services Department effective no later than March 1, <br />2005; <br />2, Approve establishing the Animal Services Director Position effective January 1, 2005; <br />3, Approve amending the Classification and Pay Plan to add the class of Animal Services <br />Director at salary grade 24; <br />4, Approve transferring Animal Control personnel, inventory, and assets from the Health <br />Department to the Animal Services Department no later than March 1, 2005; <br />5. Approve creating an Animal Services Advisory Board, and confirm its Rules of <br />Procedure; and <br />6, Provide further direction and instructions, as may be desired, to the Animal Shelter <br />Operations Task Force, and establish a "sunset" date of no later than March 1, 2005, or <br />at the point the new Animal Services Advisory Board is appointed <br />
