DocuSign Envelope ID: 118BC799-C8EB-4C83-AE90-D0293DAB7607 <br /> MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> Between the <br /> ORANGE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES <br /> And <br /> CHAPEL HILL CARRBORO CITY SCHOOLS <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into this the 01 day of , 201k0 <br /> between the Orange County Department of Social Services (DSS) and Chapel Hill Carrboro City <br /> Schools (CHCCS) outlines the responsibilities of both parties to provide services for pregnant <br /> and parenting adolescents within the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools district through the <br /> Orange County Adolescent Parenting Program (APP). <br /> This Memorandum of Understanding is effective beginning July 1, 20to and ending June 30, <br /> 20110 . <br /> A. Orange County Department of Social Services agrees to: <br /> 1. Provide a Teen Parent Social Worker to do case management services for pregnant and <br /> parenting teens in the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools district working toward their <br /> high school diploma or equivalency. These services shall include prevention of the <br /> adolescents' second pregnancy, completion of their high school education, and <br /> prevention of abuse/neglect of their children as well as primary pregnancy prevention <br /> consultation and education with individuals and student groups. <br /> 2. Supervise directly the Teen Parent Social Worker, a County employee who is <br /> accountable to DSS. <br /> B. Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools agrees to: <br /> 1. Assign a liaison to provide coordination and oversight of the Orange County Adolescent <br /> Parenting Program in the school district. <br /> 2. Provide a space at the Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools, to hold meetings and mini <br /> groups, at no charge to the Orange County Department of Social Services. <br /> C. Both the Orange County Department of Social Services and Chapel Hill Carrboro City <br /> Schools agree to: <br /> 1. Develop procedures for referrals and the provision of services for pregnant and parenting <br /> students in Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools. <br /> 2. Coordinate efforts regarding work assignments and leave time such as sick, vacation, etc. <br /> for the Teen Parent Social Worker. <br /> 3. Use the interviewing and selection process utilized by DSS for the hiring of the Teen <br /> Parent Social Worker in accordance with Orange County policy and procedures. <br /> 1 <br />
