ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: November 3, 2004 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 5-f <br />SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT (S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />NO Donna Baker, ext 2130 <br />TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br />Hillsborough 732-8181 <br />Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br />Durham 688-7331 <br />Mebane 336-227-2031 <br />PURPOSE: To consider one change in the County Commissioners' regular meeting calendar <br />for the year 2004. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br />the Regular Meeting Schedule. <br />The Board of County Commissioners will consider amending their regular meeting schedule by <br />adding a Closed Session on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 5:30 p.m. at the Southern Human <br />Services Center in Chapel Hill far the purposes of: <br />• Pursuant to G.S. § 143-318.11 {a}{3) "to consult with an attorney retained by the Board in <br />order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the Board," and <br />• "To discuss the County's positian and to instruct the County Manager and County <br />Attorney on the negotiating position regarding the terms of a contract to purchase real <br />property," NCGS ~ 143-318.11 {a}{5}. <br />Due to the health cansideratian of one of the participants, the Closed Session is scheduled to be <br />from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with dinner being between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. {prior to the <br />7:30 p.m. BOCC meeting). <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: NONE <br />
