Section 1 • Introduction <br /> 1.3 Scope of Study <br /> The scope of work for this master plan was developed by CDM Smith,City,and County staff and 17 <br /> consists of the following primary tasks: <br /> ■ Flow and Demand Projgctions <br /> • Proposed Water and Wastewater Infrastructure within Eno EDD <br /> • Force Main Discharge Alternatives <br /> ■ Permit Agency Coordination <br /> ■ Cost Estimates i <br /> • Master Plan Report <br /> A brief description of each task follows. <br /> Flow and Demand Projiections <br /> The purpose of this task was to utilize available zoning and planned-development data to develop <br /> water demand and wastewater flow projections within the Eno EDD,which in turn would be used to <br /> layout the proposed water and wastewater infrastructure backbone. <br /> Proposed Water and Wastewater Infrastructure within Eno EDD <br /> The purpose of this task was ti)develop a conceptual layout of the recommended water distribution, <br /> wastewater collection,and wastewater pump station and force main infrastructure within the Eno <br /> EDD.A combination of wastewater flow/water demand projections and physical site characteristics, *� <br /> such as topography,streams,and roads,were used to layout the proposed infrastructure that would <br /> serve as the backbone of the system. <br /> Force Main Discharge Alternatives <br /> The purpose of this task was tb identify and evaluate various alternatives for Where the wastewater <br /> flow generated within the Eno EDD could be discharged into the City's wastewater collection and <br /> conveyance system.The location of the Eno EDD basin is such that the wastewater flow could <br /> i <br /> potentially be discharged into either one of the City's two water reclamation facility(WRF)basins,the <br /> North Durham WRF or the South Durham WRF.There are three potential outfalls the Eno EDD flow <br /> could be discharged to: <br /> ■ North Durham WRF Basin <br /> i <br /> The Eno Outfall,which is located in the Eno Basin <br /> -The Ellerbe Creek Outfall,which is located in the North Durham Basin <br /> ■ South Durham WRF Baain <br /> -The Mud Creek Outfall,which is located in the Farrington Basin <br /> For the purposes of this report,the three potential discharge locations will be referred to as the Eno <br /> Outfall,Ellerbe Creek Outfall,and Mud Creek'Outfall. <br /> 1-2 Vfflb1 <br />
