The Orange County Arts Commission was also given permission to work <br />collaboratively with the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission on these two projects. <br />Based on this action, a national call for qualifications was distributed to artists by direct mail and <br />posted electronically by email and via various websites, Artists living in Orange County were <br />encouraged to apply. Artists were asked to submit a letter of interest, relevant experience/ <br />current resume, up to 15 images of their work or a 3-minute videotape of their work, annotated <br />image list or video description, references, and optional supporting materials. <br />108 responses were received for the Homestead Aquatics Center Public Art Project, and 48 <br />responses were submitted for the Southern Community Park Public Art Project, The public art <br />selection committees for these two projects have met and selected final artists, Public <br />comments have also been received, <br />The artist team of Laura Haddad and Tom Dnagan (Seattle, WA) have been selected to join the <br />design team for the Southern Community Park Public Art Project, Artist Ray King (Philadelphia, <br />PA) has been selected for the Homestead Aquatics Center Public Art Project.
