RES - 2019 - 001 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION OF RECOGNITION <br /> FOR <br /> ANDREW SACHS <br /> WHEREAS , Andrew (Andy ) Sachs , Coordinator for the Dispute Settlement Center , <br /> retired in October 201 8 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Mr . Sachs served as a mediator , group facilitator , and conflict resolution <br /> trainer since 1980 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Andy has been a member of multiple state and national organizations , <br /> including serving on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Mediation Network for <br /> 14 years ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Andy has helped and supported many local agencies and governments <br /> through extremely challenging issues ; and <br /> WHEREAS , Mr . Sachs assisted Orange County Government by mediating multiple <br /> projects over the years , including School Collaboration , the Comprehensive Flan , <br /> school merger discussions , the Firearms Safety Committee and multiple Board of <br /> County Commissioners ' retreats , and <br /> WHEREAS , the Orange County Board of Commissioners will deeply miss Andy ' s skills <br /> and expertise in bringing potentially volatile issues to a productive conclusion ; <br /> NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners expresses its deep appreciation , gratitude and respect for the mediation <br /> services throughout the community provided by Andrew Sachs for Orange County <br /> Government and the people of Orange County , and that the Board wishes him well in <br /> his retirement . <br /> This the 22nd day of January 2019 . <br /> 91, <br /> Zri <br /> 17 4 rfob <br /> Penny Rich Miair <br /> I Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 4 <br /> !' 14 <br /> 41b <br />
