Approved September 24, 2015 3 <br /> Towns and County Staff Revised Priority Solid Waste Issues Report <br /> • Solid Waste Convenience Center Improvements to be added to Priority list <br /> o Eubanks Road upgrades may not be completed until April/ May, and will include moving scales to <br /> north side, incorporating HHW, installing compactors , food waste collection , plastic film <br /> collection , cooking oil collection , and closing the scales on south side <br /> • A temporary site for waste and other reduced services will be provided during <br /> construction <br /> • Kleinschmidt suggests interest in knowing breakdown of costs <br /> • Consolidating landfill services , the moving of scales, etc . , will create less impact on the <br /> Rogers Road Community <br /> o Three Neighborhood Centers ( Ferguson Road , High Rock Road and Bradshaw Quarry Road ) will <br /> be smaller, less expensive and less rigorous remodels <br /> o Lavelle requests Eubanks Road upgrades to be presented at next meeting <br /> o An Abstract requesting authority for Manager to sign during summer break will be presented <br /> during June 2 meeting, in order for Eubanks Road construction to continue <br /> o Request to ask other solid waste professionals if duplicating services increases recycling at a cost <br /> that is acceptable <br /> • Tipton states that the more convenient recycling is, the more comprehensive the system <br /> • Pollock explains that compactors will significantly reduce hauling costs <br /> • Jacobs suggests a defined recycling goal .
