OPT Short Range Transit Plan

Nelson\Nygaard Consulting Associates, Inc. | 5-9

Orange-Chapel Hill Connector
The existing Orange-Chapel Hill Connector would be continued so that, in conjunction with
GoTriangle Route 420, there is all-day service between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill. This route
would continue to provide midday fixed-route service along US 86 between Chapel Hill,
Hillsborough, and Cedar Grove, operating every 60 minutes from 9:45 AM until 3:50 PM,
Monday through Friday. This route provides connections to multiple park-and-ride lots, including
the Durham Tech Park-and-Ride and the future Hillsborough Park-and-Ride. This route has a
total estimated annual cost of $131,000.
Figure 5-7 Orange-Chapel Hill Connector
