2 <br /> Outreach Literacy Coordinator position from a .75 FTE to a 1.0 FTE, effective January 1, <br /> 2019. As part of Budget Amendment #1 on September 4, 2018, this position had been <br /> reduced from a 1.0 FTE to a .75 FTE due to the loss of Library Services and Technology <br /> Act (LSTA) State Library Grant funds. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> these increased funds, reinstates the time-limited Community Outreach Literacy <br /> Coordinator position to a 1.0 FTE, effective January 1, 2019, and amends the multi-year <br /> Outreach Literacy Grant Project Ordinance as follows: (See Attachment 1, column 2) <br /> Outreach Literacy Grant ($19,289) - Project# 71355 <br /> Revenues for this project: <br /> Current FY FY 2018-19 FY 2018-19 <br /> 2018-19 Amendment Revised <br /> Friends of OC Library $3,500 $0 $3,500 <br /> Smart Start Funds $44,501 $19,289 $63,790 <br /> From General Fund $10,000 $0 $10,000 <br /> Total Project Funding $58,001 $19,289 $77,290 <br /> Appropriated for this project: <br /> Current FY FY 2018-19 FY 2018-19 <br /> 2018-19 Amendment Revised <br /> Outreach Literacy Grant $58,001 $19,289 $77,290 <br /> Total Costs $58,001 $19,289 $77,290 <br /> 3. Orange County Library Services has received additional funds of $6,850 from the Friends <br /> of the Library to provide support for the department's Summer Learning Activities, <br /> including the kick-off, as well as for programming throughout the summer and prizes for <br /> the participants of all ages. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these <br /> additional funds. (See Attachment 1, column 3) <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this item: <br /> • GOAL: FOSTER A COMMUNITY CULTURE THAT REJECTS OPPRESSION <br /> AND INEQUITY <br /> The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race or <br /> color; religious or philosophical beliefs; sex, gender or sexual orientation; national <br /> origin or ethnic background; age; military service; disability; and familial, residential <br /> or economic status. <br /> Visitors Bureau Fund — Economic Development <br /> 4. The Visitors Bureau, along with its Board of Directors, continues to grow tourism in <br /> Orange County through a sound media, promotions and marketing campaign with the <br /> goal of strengthening the economy by increasing total visitors to the community. In <br /> addition to helping to fill the growing hotel supply in Orange County, including the <br /> opening of two recent hotels (AC by Marriott, Rosemary Street and Hyatt Place, Southern <br /> Village) and dozens of new restaurants, mixed-use communities, galleries, retail and <br /> special events, the Visitors Bureau is requesting use of $180,000 of its available <br />
