7 <br /> Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau <br /> October 26, 2018 <br /> To: Thom Freeman, BOCC, Orange County Clerk's Office <br /> From: Laurie Paolicelli, Director, Orange County Visitors Bureau <br /> Re: Recommendation for new member on Visitors Bureau Advisory Board <br /> The University North Carolina Chapel Hill's seat on the Visitors Bureau advisory board is currently <br /> occupied by Aaron Bachenheimer.This seat calls for a new representative as of December 2018 as Mr. <br /> Bachenheimer wraps up the second of his two year term. <br /> In an email from Vice Chancellor of Communications,Joel Curran, (snapshot attached), UNC is asking <br /> that Tanya Moore take this seat. <br /> Tanya Moore is senior director of communications planning and strategic projects in the Office of <br /> University Communications at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. <br /> She oversees the areas of executive communications, campus and internal communications and the <br /> UNC Visitors Center. She leads the office's strategic planning process and ensures that teams meet goals <br /> while staying aligned to the mission. She is a key adviser to the vice chancellor and other university <br /> leaders and serves as chief of staff for the office. <br /> Moore has in-depth knowledge of university culture and campus issues, having spent her entire 17-year <br /> career at Carolina. <br /> Prior areas of responsibility include media relations, issues management, community relations,the Tar <br /> Heel Bus Tour and the UNC Board of Visitors.A native of Greensboro, N.C., Moore earned a B.A.from <br /> the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2001. <br /> The Visitors Bureau Board Chair,Anthony Carey, agrees that Ms. Moore would make a positive <br /> contribution to this board.The staff looks forward to welcoming Ms. Moore, upon the Board of County <br /> Commissioner's approval. <br /> Please let me know if I can answer any questions. <br /> Laurie <br />
