GOAL 2 : COMMIT TO UPDATING AND MAINTAINING THE NATURAL AREAS <br /> INVENTORY AS ONE OF THE COUNTY'S CORE TOOLS FOR PLANNING AND <br /> GUIDING DEVELOPMENT . <br /> Activities and Progress during 2000 -2001 <br /> An update of the 1988 inventory was funded by a $ 5 , 000 matching grant from the NC <br /> Natural Heritage Program and is currently underway. <br /> Status <br /> The inventory update (by consulting biologist Bruce Some) is scheduled for completion <br /> in summer 2002 , <br /> Plans for 2002 � <br /> This goal is appropriately being addressed by the Biological Resources Committee and is <br /> no longer a goal of EIE . <br /> GOAL 3 : COMMIT FUNDS TO DEVELOPING BIKEWAYS ACCORDING TO THE <br /> BICYCLE PLAN OF THE BICYCLE PLAN TASK FORCE . <br /> Activities and Progress during 2000 -2001 <br /> The EIE committee has not addressed this goal during the last year . <br /> Status <br /> Work on this goal has been transferred to the Air Quality Committee, which is more <br /> appropriate because the committee addresses transportation-related issues . <br /> Plans for 2002 <br /> The Committee continues to endorse this goal but the Air Quality Committee will address <br /> it . <br /> GOAL 4 : COMMIT FUNDS TO COMPLETE A REPORT ON SUSTAINABILITY <br /> INDICATORS <br /> � y <br /> 20 <br />
