Members shall serve a term of three years with initial terms staggered as follows : <br /> a. Air Quality - one year ; thereafter three years <br /> b . Engineering and Land Resources - two years ; thereafter three years <br /> c . Biological Sciences and Water Resources - initial term three years <br /> d . At-Large Members : <br /> • One year for four members <br /> • Two years for three members <br /> • Three years for two members <br /> -Be Attendance <br /> 1 . Any member of the Commission for the Environment who misses more than three <br /> consecutive meetings or more than one -half of the meetings in a calendar year, for <br /> something other than an approved absence as determined by the Chair, may lose their <br /> status as a member and may be replaced by the BOCC . <br /> 2 . Absence due to sickness , death of an immediate family member, professional leave , or <br /> other valid reason shall be considered an approved absence and shall not affect the <br /> member' s status . <br /> 3 . In the event of a long illness or other cause for prolonged absence , the member may be <br /> replaced . <br /> ARTICLE IV - ADMINISTRATION <br /> A. Staff <br /> i <br /> The Orange County Planning Department shall serve as staff to the Commission for the <br /> Environment . <br /> Be Secretary <br /> The Comprehensive Planning Supervisor or designee shall serve as Secretary to the <br /> Commission for the Environment . The Secretary shall keep all minutes and records of <br /> the Commission for the Environment and provide proper and legal notice of regular and <br /> special meetings to members and the public . <br /> 3 <br />
