Air Quality Issues and Recommendations : <br /> g) The County should evaluate its role in managing air quality in the County, <br /> h) The County should identify its role in management of regional air quality, <br /> i) The County should actively participate in management of regional air quality, <br /> j ) The County should pursue actions to reduce air pollutant emissions from the County ' s <br /> fleet of vehicles by use of alternative vehicles , improved vehicle maintenance, and <br /> reduction in vehicle miles traveled, and <br /> _ k) The ERCD , with the assistance of the CfE , should develop initiatives that the County can <br /> - implement to improve air quality in the County. <br /> Transportation Issues and Recommendations . <br /> 1) The County should collect information to better understand regional transportation issues , <br /> m) The County should determine what role it will take in addressing County and regional <br /> transportation issues , <br /> n) The County should take an active role in planning main travel corridors within the <br /> County and between regional jurisdictions , <br /> o) The County should aggressively participate in the planning and implementation of <br /> alternatives to traditional transportation systems in the region, including light rail <br /> systems , bicycle paths , tele -working, etc . <br /> 3 . The County should intensively lobby State and Federal Agencies to obtain more air quality <br /> data in and near the County in order to identify and control the major airborne sources that <br /> affect human health, environmental damage , and the quality of life in the County. Of <br /> particular concern is the lack of ozone air monitoring data in the County. <br /> iv <br />
