The facilitator will work as part of the support team in managing the planning process . GPLUC MEETING SCHEDULE AND OUTCOMES 1 . Timeline and Meeting Content . Below is a bOaf description and schedule of the GPLUG meetings . June 2002 First Meeting : Review of current land use conditions , analysis of oou ntywide development trends , and demographic changes . +• ,June 2002 — Seoond Meeting . Remew and discussion on the potential growth management chalfengea facing Orange County, including the possible future oonditions that may occur ( Le ., increased traffic , lass of environment resources , degradation of water quality, and heightened demand on public services) . + July 2002 y Third Rlrleetina : Review of the various approaches , such as lower densities , to the growth management challenges . Current regulations will also be considered as part of this revr" ew. Discuasiun on the different Growth Scenanvos , and the pros and cons of various growth management tools , including Urban Growth Boundaries . + Aunust 2002 — Fourth Meeting : Framework of Goals , Objectives , and Policies/ Report 2 . Outcomes. . The Committee will provide staff with feedback in writing or through the minutes of the meetings on : The pros and cons of the various growth management tools; ■ The direction of the Comprehensive Planning Process ; and . The possibie need far and discussion points for Small Area Planning Committees and /or meetings . All Comprehensive planning work products and comments from the Committee shall be forwarded back to the BOCC . 3 . Comprehensive Planning Process . Table 2 : Comprehensive Plan Land Use Element Tentative Process and Schedule illustrates the proposed Ccmprehensrve Planning Pros . In addition to the CPLUC , the process may include Smail Area Planning Committees (SAPG ) . These groups would provide additional feedback about the vanous growth management tools and their applIcab11ity within spewcif'Ic areas of tha County from citizens luring there . In order to do this , the Planning Staff divided the County into 8 sub= areas based upon watershed , residenfial density , and utlllty services . These factors were chosen because of their influence on the BCCC ' s goals. Watershed areas $ re direcdy related to environmantal stewardship ; the presence of Witles avid infrastructure is vital to the caanomic fabric of an area ; and the residential density of a community greatly Influences its character,
