�9 <br /> attorney has sent him comments on Bradley Decker ' s report . He will provide those <br /> comments to the CfE for their review . <br /> Members discussed the item regarding an educational materials folder for citizens . <br /> Crisler reported that data is being collected . Wachholz reviewed the original idea of <br /> a folder with relevant information about Orange County issues available for citizens . <br /> Members discussed availability , distribution , and a possible curriculum for school <br /> children on how to take care of the environment . It was suggested there be a four - <br /> panel brochure was needed with an overview of what the County is doing on <br /> environment issues . Members decided to change the goal to " Development of an <br /> environmental education strategy info for citizens . " Smith noted that the <br /> educational goal is listed in two sections and could be combined into one area . <br /> Land use patterns was discussed as a possible new goal for the CfE . In conclusion <br /> members thought another avenue might be to have a liaison of CfE to cooperate <br /> work with the Planning Board instead of a separate committee and focus on the <br /> Natural Areas Element of the comprehensive plan . Crisler recommended that the <br /> group think more about indicators that they want to put in the SOE report to reflect <br /> land use and its effects on the environment . <br /> Tucker asked about the status of the web site . Stancil said that ERCD staff would be <br /> adding reports to the web site and noted that the county had recently hired its first <br /> public information officer ( Todd Jones ) . Tucker said school children would use the <br /> web site if it were available , and suggested that ERCD get a student at the UNC <br /> School of Journalism work on the web site . <br /> Stancil said he would bring back in April a matrix of CfE goals for discussion and <br /> prioritization ( High , Medium , and Low ) . <br /> Meardon reported information for energy efficient milking machine through a grant <br /> program for farmers . Gordon suggested this information be referred to the <br /> Agricultural Preservation Board . <br /> VII . Appointment to the Intergovernmental Parks ( IP ) Work Group <br /> Crisler noted that the CfE needs to find a replacement for Lee Rafalow on the IP <br /> Work Group . The next meeting is March 26 . Stancil gave a brief history of the work <br /> group and the meeting schedule . Crisler agreed to ask Cotterman and Randall if <br /> they would be interested in representing the CfE on this group . <br /> VIII . Updates <br /> Stancil noted pages 26 - 30 of the agenda packet had the latest CPLUC information . <br /> Efland - Cheeks Park Phase II will kicking off in April . He may invite Kimberly Siran , <br /> ERCD open space design specialist , to next meeting . <br /> IX . Next Meeting - April 14 <br /> Location Change - Homestead Community Center <br /> X .
