Recommendation — Proposed Outdoor Lighting Standards Amendments to Zoning Ordinance Smith summarized the history of the CfE ' s interest with and concern over light pollution . He said he had made a presentation to the Planning Board and that the Planning Department staff later drafted amendments to the county zoning ordinance . The proposed amendments were discussed at a February public hearing . Stancil noted that the BOCC referred the proposal to the CfE and Planning Board for formal comments . The CfE should provide recommendations to the Planning Board . The Planning Board will incorporate CfE comments into its comments and recommendations to the BOCC . The Planning Board is scheduled to consider this item on April 2nd . CfE members discussed their concerns with the draft lighting standards .
