Short - Term Priorities <br /> Parks, open Space and Resource Lands <br /> Acquisition and Facility De velopmen t <br /> In the context of these discussions , " Short-Term Priorities " are envisioned to be <br /> identified priority needs for a 2 - 5 year timeframe (consistent with the County ' s CIP <br /> planning approach ) . <br /> A . Land Acquisitions for Parks , Open Space and Resource Conservation — <br /> Short- Term (2 = 5 Years ) <br /> Table 1 gives the priorities for land acquisitions during the next two to five years . Note <br /> that the 1999 Joint Master Recreation and Parks report emphasizes the importance of land <br /> banking to preserve park sites now . The Task Force concurs with this recommendation , <br /> and recommends that at least half the parks funds allocated from the upcoming <br /> November 2001 bond referendum be devoted to land acquisition and land preservation . <br /> The cost estimates put forth in this table , and in the rest of the report , are based on current <br /> knowledge and markets present in 2001 .
