Work is performed under general supervision . <br /> TYPICAL TP,S Q <br /> Develop conoept plan , loycut and design for new park facilities , working with cltizen committees <br /> and making public preserktatlons as needed , <br /> Advises on development of park facility to ensure ecolcgically- aensftive siting and design , and <br /> field - identifying appropriate locatlons for nature trails /walking trail' s and other low " Impact <br /> recreation facility ; <br /> Develop environmental education and outreach programs at park fadlilles , and organize and <br /> oversai�i nature trail programs ; <br /> Coordinate and organize volunteer work on trail construe ion and maintenance , <br /> Assists in stewardship of County-awned lands ( nature preserves , conservation easements , and <br /> other open spaces ) ; <br /> Works closely with Rec4seativn and Forks staff in programming and maintenance of park <br /> facilities ; <br /> Monitors consultant contracts for parks design improyements , as needed ; <br /> Pursues grant funds for parr improvements ; <br /> Conducts public presentations for Board of County Commissioners , concept plan corn mittaes , <br /> various boards and chric groups ; <br /> Performs related tasks as required , <br /> KLtOWLEDGES • SKILLS AND ABILITIESM <br /> Thorough knowledge of the methods and practices utilized in landscape architecture for the <br /> planning and design of park faculties ; thorough knowledge of ecological andenvironmentally = <br /> suns <br /> itive design ; general knowledge of construction administration from inception to wmple icn ; <br /> general knowledge in Identifying and prioritizing natural and cultural resources ; general <br /> knowledge in land acquisition for resource conversation , ability to present the results of design <br /> and research effectively in oral , wrftten and graphic form ; ability to establish and maintain <br /> effective working relationships with County officials , associates , representatives of other <br /> agencies and the general publ' ic . <br /> E, ATIQN AND EXPERIENCE : <br /> Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an occredited <br /> college or university W th major wurse work in landscape archnectiure , land resource <br /> management, envlrcrimental planning or related field and at least two gears professional <br /> experience in park planning , development or design , <br />
