This grade has a hiring range of 173351 — <br /> �45 , 3 �7 . <br /> BACKGROUND . With the June 2001 budget adoption , the Board of Commissionetz approved <br /> a new permanent full -time Open Space Design Specialist position In the Environment and <br /> Resource Ccnaervartlon Department effeckive January 1 , 2002 . As part of its action , the Doard <br /> asked the County Manager to explore the needs related to future parks development and the <br /> relationship between the two County departments most involved In parks acquisition , planning <br /> and development — the Environment and Resource Conservation Department ( ERCD ) and the <br /> Recreation and Parks Department . <br /> At the November 29 , 2001 Board wmi(session , the Board received the " Navy Era far Parks" <br /> report outlining information on departmental coordination ( ERCD and Recreation and Parks ) ; <br /> the continuum of parks planning ; parks design , maintenance and stewardship ; and future <br /> resources needs . <br /> As outlined in the parks report, the ERCDis taking the lead rola in initial planning , Sita _ <br /> identifiration and evaluation , land acquisition and concept planning with the Recreation and <br /> Pam Director being involved in the process .
