The following draft is presented for CFE comment . <br /> The Conservation Heroes Award would be an annual award that recognizes individuals <br /> and organizations that have shown a sustained and outstanding commitment to resource <br /> conservation in Orange County . The recipient can be a landowner, board member, <br /> If <br /> concerned citizen , business , government or private non-profit organization, or any other <br /> person or group who has worked towards natural area conservation . <br /> There would be three main purposes of the Conservation Heroes Award program : 1 ) to <br /> identify and award citizens and organizations who have advanced the cause of natural <br /> and cultural resource conservation by their actions , 2 ) publicize conservation options <br /> avaidi <br /> lable to private landowners and 3 ) improve the understanding between the private <br /> sector and county resource conservation agencies , <br /> Process <br /> Phase 1 ( October 1 ) : Nomination forms would be emailed out by ERCD , posted on <br /> website , and posted in the newspaper . A specified due date is stated on forms . <br /> Phase 2 ( October 31 ) : Forms are received and compiled on due date . <br />
