This report is presented to elected officials , policy makers , and citizens as <br /> a helpful tool in guiding policy decisions that affect and impact Wake <br /> County ' s environment . It was written by the Wake County Environmental <br /> Network in cooperation with the City of Raleigh Environmental Quality <br /> Advisory Board . The Wake County Environmental Network is comprised <br /> of staff from 18 county agencies with environmental responsibilities for <br /> enforcement, operations , and education . <br /> The Wake County Environmental Network Mission is to provide current <br /> environmental and related health information on issues , regulations , <br /> programs , services and events . In presenting this information , the <br /> Network ' s goals are to involve , to educate , to motivate , to raise awareness , <br /> and to set a positive example for all people in Wake County. <br /> As trends in future reports are evident they will be reported to elected ZZZZ <br /> officials throughout Wake County with recommendations on policy . <br /> decisions intended to improve the environmental quality and the quality <br /> of life in Wake County. <br /> Citizens are encouraged to request the Network 's publication, Wake <br /> County Environmental Handbook for information on how citizens can <br /> accept the responsibility to help improve the environment through their <br /> daily activities . <br /> Citizens can request more information on issues in this report by <br /> contacting the government resources listed on the inside back cover. <br /> • <br /> v <br />
