Update — AFLEV Work Group <br /> Stancil reported that the AFLEV Work Group met in January to discuss a possible grant <br /> submittal through the state energy office to the US Department of Energy for a program <br /> that ' s available through Clean Cities network . The Group is considering working jointly with <br /> the NC Department of Transportation ( NCDOT ) and possibly the Town of Hillsborough . <br /> Stancil noted that NCDOT has a unit located in Hillsborough between I - 40 and I - 85 . He <br /> reported communicating earlier in the day with Ann Taswell , Clean Cities coordinator at <br /> TJCOG , and it appears that the deadline for this submittal is too soon to clear the state <br /> office . However , there is another state grant program coming available in April , which may <br /> provide a viable opportunity . Stancil is scheduling a meeting in early March with the county <br /> commissioners , CFE representative , NCDOT Raleigh and local branch , and the Town of <br /> Hillsborough to discuss a potential joint proposal for a CNG or fueling station in <br /> Hillsborough . Staff will update the CFE as the project develops . <br /> VI . BOCC Agenda Items Update <br /> Stancil reviewed some of the materials included in the meeting packet from the previous <br /> month 's BOCC agenda . Fortmann reminded members that he had asked staff to provide <br /> this kind information and encouraged members to look at the BOCC agenda website for <br /> pertinent issues . Stancil reported on the recent BOCC retreat , noting that most of the time <br /> was spent on concerns regarding financial matters . The Board indicated its interest and <br /> agreement with on the CFE progress report . <br /> Stancil noted that the BOCC will be organizing a Water Summit to bring together all the <br /> different towns and utility providers within the county . <br /> March meeting agenda items will include discussion of the Triangle GreenPrint — a regional <br /> open space proposal that will be referred to this board for comment by the BOCC . ( CFE <br /> members were encouraged to attend a presentation at the Feb . 251h BOCC meeting . ) Also <br /> in March , the concept plan for Southern Community Park may be looked at for comment . <br /> VII .
