Call to Order <br /> Smith called meeting to order at 7 : 35 p . m . <br /> II . Additions to the Agenda <br /> III . Approval of Minutes for December 8 , 2003 <br /> MOTION : Whisnant motioned approval of minutes from the December 8 , 2003 <br /> meeting . Pratt seconded the motion . <br /> VOTE : Approved unanimously . <br /> IV . Resolution of Appreciation — Dan Okun <br /> Commission members and staff thanked Dan Okun for six years of work on the <br /> Commission for the Environment and his insights particularly on water issues and <br /> presented a resolution of appreciation and invited him to continue to offer thoughts <br /> and insights to the group in the future . A Resolution of Appreciation was approved <br /> by acclamation . Members applauded Okun 's accomplishments in environmental <br /> protection and his work on the commission since the 1997 inception . <br /> V . Discussion of Public Outreach <br /> Stancil said that at the last meeting there had been a good discussion on potential <br /> public outreach efforts . There was a consensus of a need to develop a strategic plan <br /> for community outreach , including website information , community fairs and other <br /> avenues . Stancil said that as part of that discussion members agreed to invite the <br /> County ' s Chief Information Officer , Todd Jones , to further explore ways to engage <br /> the community with information such as the SOE report . <br /> Stancil noted that there had once been a CfE web page linked to the County ERCD <br /> web page , but due to irregular updates it was eventually phased out .
