As a member of ICLEI ' s Cities for Climate Protection, you are on <br /> the forefront of the movement to address global climate change at the local level . <br /> We are contacting you to : <br /> * Request information from you as part of a new project we're working on <br /> Share results of climate protection work we've recently done <br /> * Pass along information about how to successfully impart global climate change messages <br /> �t Request information from you regarding air quality with climate protection <br /> We are beginning a project for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to study the <br /> integration of air quality and climate protection . , Part of this work includes a nationwide survey of <br /> programs that already do this . If your program integrates air quality and climate protection, please let <br /> us know. Because of our campaign, all ten of our <br /> municipalities have pledged by resolution to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, and all have <br /> inventoried GHG emissions for their municipal operations . This happened in less time and with far <br /> more support than anyone imagined possible . <br /> Enclosed is _ the summary report for the GHG Inventory Projectwe recently completed . This project <br /> is creating regional momentum for climate protection, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, saving <br /> cities money, improving air quality, and all the other benefits which cities receive from climate <br /> protection . A regional approach provides momentum, funding options , and peer support for <br /> everyone . <br /> The online employee commute survey we developed for the project saved hours of work and <br /> enabled us to track commute-generated emissions . The online system immediately converts answers <br /> to a brief survey into emissions , gives employees instant feedback about their commute and how <br /> they compare to their peers , and automatically compiles this information .
