Decker thanked members for their feedback and requested to receive a <br /> comprehensive list of comments from each committee chair to include the <br /> following : <br /> • committee recommendations for the Overview section of the report <br /> • indicators you want to drop <br /> • what to include in the " CfE response " section for each of indicator ( e . g . , what <br /> the County is currently doing , what the County plans to do , or what the <br /> County should do ) <br /> • stylistic changes to the format , graphs , and charts <br /> • grammatical and substantive changes to the narrative <br /> • specific points to make in the overview and cover letter to BOCC <br /> It was agreed that any other thoughts/ requests would be shared via email . <br /> Previously it was agreed that the CfE would write the Executive Summary and overall state of <br /> the environment after the October meeting. <br /> VI . Conservation Award Criteria / Plans for 2003 Environmental Summit <br /> Stancil reported that on October 1st the BOCC received a report from staff about <br /> the proposed March 2003 Environmental Summit and Conservation Award . <br /> Commissioners were supportive , but asked for selection criteria and who would be <br /> making the final decision . Stancil suggested that the CfE would solicit nominations , <br /> evaluate applications and recommend nominees to the BOCC . Stancil reminded <br /> members that a list of proposed criteria had been distributed at the October <br /> meeting and members were asked for other suggestions via email . Stancil <br /> summarized the CfE member comments he had received . <br /> Proposed Criteria <br /> • Accomplished outstanding conservation <br /> • Effect - how broad / extensive is the effect of the activity ? <br /> • Context great impact with limited resources <br /> Evaluate Conservation Awards <br /> conservation achievement <br /> effect on conservation / impact <br /> increase public awareness <br /> Retain flexibility to award to volunteers or others as deemed necessary <br /> • 1 - 2 awards <br /> recommendations for 2003 <br /> ( re - evaluate prior to next awards ) <br /> Form <br /> abstract <br /> summary of activity <br /> resume w/ organization affiliation <br /> MOTION : Whisnant motioned to adopt the criteria .
