Department of Transportation Rural Operating Assistance Program <br />(ROAP) Grant, NC Community Transportation Program (CTP) Grant, and <br />the CMAQ Grant. <br />6. Receives updates on TARPO, BG MPO and DCHC MPO transportation <br />planning activities. <br />7. Receives updates from the Planning staff on t he NCDOT quarterly <br />luncheon topics of discussion. <br />8. Submits comments and questions for discussion with OCPT staff during <br />TAS Group meetings. <br />9. Reviews and discusses current Board vacancies. <br />10. Other items as assigned by the BOCC. <br /> <br />Describe this board/commission’s activities/accomplishments in carrying <br />out BOCC goal(s)/priorities, if applicable. <br /> <br />The OUTBoard is involved in the ongoing implementation of the 2030 <br />Comprehensive Plan and related BOCC adopted goals/priorities. Annual work <br />related to these efforts includes addressing the Transportation Improvement <br />Program (TIP); the review of active NCDOT projects; the review of county <br />transportation planning efforts, including the activities of TARPO, BCHC MPO <br />and B-G MPO and local plans; and participating in the review of transit <br />operational statistics for federal state and program transportation grants. <br /> <br />If your board/commission played the role of an Element Lead Advisory <br />Board involved in the 2030 Comprehensive Plan preparation process, <br />please indicate your board’s activities/accomplishments as they may relate <br />to the Comprehensive Plan’s goals or objectives. <br /> <br />(The Element Lead Advisory Boards include: Planning Board, EDC, OUTBoard, <br />Commission for the Environment, Historic Preservation Commission, Agriculture <br />Preservation Board, Affordable Housing Board, Recreation and Parks Advisory <br />Council) <br /> <br />Following are specific Comprehensive Plan Goals and Objectives that have been <br />part of the OUTBoard’s work in 2018: <br /> <br />Transportation Overarching Goal: An efficient and balanced transportation <br />system that uses multiple motorized and non-motorized modes of transportation <br />and for which the planning, design, and implementation will be guided by the <br />following overarching qualities: <br />A. Protects air quality, water quality and quantity, soil quality, and biological <br />resources <br />B. Promotes public health and safety <br />C. Encourages sustainable economic development <br />D. Provides equal access to all users <br />E. Is highly modally and inter-modally integrated and connected <br />19
