In 2018 the Transit Advisory Services (TAS) effort led by Orange County Public <br />Transportation (OCPT) Department, has addressed transit topics at OUTBoard <br />meetings relating to public transit: <br />a. OCPT rebranding and marketing efforts in early 2018. <br />b. OCPT Quarterly Operational Statistics, including Orange County <br />ridership data. <br />c. OCPT expansion services, including the recent purchase of three new <br />28-foot Light Transit Vehicles (LTV’s) to expand service delivery and <br />replace older vehicles which has long reached their useful life. <br />d. Implementation of a new route, the Orange Alamance connector, that <br />provides midday service from northern Hillsborough out to Cone Health <br />facility in Mebane, then back to southern Hillsborough, and through the <br />heart of the historic downtown area. <br />h. NCDOT compliance and safety audit results for OCPT, Department of <br />Aging contractor audits, and Department of Social Services audits as a <br />Medicaid contractor, required for certification as a Medicaid provider. <br />i. Transit Scheduling and Planning Software upgrades and <br />procurements. <br />j. Orange County commuter options. <br /> <br />List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored <br />Annually. <br />1. The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is typically a recurring <br />two-year process: <br /> First year: Develops priority list of projects to request in <br /> TIP for BOCC approval. <br /> Second year: Recommends comments regarding draft TIP <br /> for BOCC approval to submit to NCDOT during <br /> the public comment period. <br />The OUTBoard assists with the identification and prioritization of NCDOT <br />projects for rural (TARPO) and metropolitan (DCHC MPO and BG MPO) <br />planning areas. <br />2. Reviews active NCDOT projects in the County, including various paving, <br />construction and Congestion Mitigation and A ir Quality (CMAQ) Grant <br />projects. <br />3. Receives updates and reviews the progress of NCDOT transportation <br />projects within rural Orange County. <br />4. Receives updates and reviews the progress of Orange County <br />transportation planning efforts. <br />5. Receives updates and reviews OCPT Operational Statistics for federal <br />and state program transportation grants including the North Carolina <br />18
