The properties are further identified by Orange County Property Identification Numbers <br /> (PINS) 9843221289; 9843137930; 9843055036; 9833935222; 9843137930; and 9842497233. <br /> The properties are zoned Agricultural Residential (AR), lie within the Upper Eno Protected and <br /> Cane Creek Protected Watersheds, and located in the Cheeks Township of Orange County. <br /> NC United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministries, Inc. (owners of Camp Chestnut Ridge) <br /> are proposing to expand and improve the camp's facilities to meet their anticipated growth over <br /> the next 20-30 years. The proposed development would expand and/or develop 37 structures <br /> and/or areas (e.g. cabins, camping areas, meeting facilities, shelters and recreational areas). <br /> Please refer to the attached map for additional details. <br /> The Orange County Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Section 5.2 Table of <br /> Permitted Uses classifies the "Camp Retreat Center" and Recreation Facility (Non-profit) <br /> components of this request as uses which may be permitted in the AR zoning district so long as <br /> they are subject to the review, approval, and issuance of a Class B Special Use Permit (SUP) by <br /> the Orange County Board of Adjustment. <br /> UDO Section 2.7 also requires that a Neighborhood Information Meeting (NIM) be held <br /> prior to the Board of Adjustment meeting and that notices be sent to property owners within 1,000 <br /> feet of the subject property. This NIM meeting is intended to allow property owners and <br /> applicants an opportunity to review and discuss the proposal with the area's residents. It is also <br /> designed to give participants an understanding of the SUP requirements and the review process. <br /> The NIM for this case will be held on September 25, 2018. See below for the location and <br /> additional details. <br /> The Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing to decide the Class B SUP request on <br /> November 12, 2018. Additional notices shall be sent to you confirming the date/location/time of <br /> that Public Hearing. <br /> The review of all SUP applications are carried out in a quasi-judicial format meaning that <br /> decisions relating to the approval or denial of an application are based solely on the sworn <br /> 331 <br />
